Toronto, the most affordable home city

Toronto, Canada has emerged the most affordable city in the world for booking a short-term home stay vacation rental, while Glasgow, Scotland is pricier, according to a new index.

Budget-conscious travellers headed to Toronto may find comfort in knowing that booking a room with a family or property owner in Canada’s biggest city runs average of $20 a night in Homestay.Com.

On the flip side, a room in a private home in Glasgow runs an average of $61, making it the most expensive home stay destination on the list. In their inaugural home stay Index, researchers collected user data from their own online booking platform, guest and host surveys as well as research from within the vacation rental industry.
