John Green

John Green is the New York Times best selling of Looking for Alaska, An Abundance of Katherines, Paper towns, Let It Shown: Three Holiday Romance-sand The Fault in Our  Stars.  Born in Indianapolis, Indiana  on 24th August 1977 he mainly writes young adult fiction. He attended Lake Highland Preparatory School in Orlando, and Indiana Springs School which he later used as the inspiration for the main setting of his first book, Looking for Alaska.
Green graduates from Kenyon College in 2000 with a double major in English and Religious Studies . He wanted to become an Episcopal priest, and his experiences of working in a hospital with children suffering from terminal illnesses inspired him to become an author, and later to write The Fault in Out Stars.
Before becoming the best seller author he worked for the book review journal Book list as a Publishing assistant. when he began writing his first book. His first book Looking for Alaska was published in 2005. The novel was awarded the annual Michael L. Printz Awarded by American Library Association.
His second novel, An Abundance of Katherines was a runner-up for the Printz Award and a finalist for the Los Angeles Times Book Prize.
In 2008 came his third book Paper Towns. The novel awarded the 2009 Edgar Award for Best Young Adult Novel.
With fellow young adult authors Maureen Johnson and Lauren Myracle, Green collaborated on Let It Snow: Three Holiday Romances, Which consists of three interconnected short stories .
His fifth book, titled The Fault in Our Stars was released in January 2012. The novel was adapted to film in The Fault in Our Stars(2014).
Other than being an author Green is also a YouTube video blogger (vlogger) and creator of online educational videos. In 2007 he launched the VlogBrothers channel, which he runs with his brother, Hank Green and has launched events such as Project for Awesome and VidCon.
Their videos has been viewed more than 200 million times, and their channel is one of the most popular in the history of online video. He is also an active Twitter user with more than 1.2 million followers.
He has also created an education channel named Crash Course teaching literature, history and science.

In late 2013, Green stated that he is writing a new book with working title The Racket.
